Peccioli is one of Tuscany’s most surprising hill towns. At first glance, it feels authentically Tuscan, but look a little closer and you’ll discover contemporary art in unexpected places, breathtaking views and a vibrant local culture.

Peccioli is renowned for its unique art projects, with contemporary artworks woven into the streets, squares and historic buildings. As you wander through the historic centre, you’ll discover striking installations, colourful details and unexpected viewpoints, all blending beautifully with the centuries-old architecture.

One of the highlights is Palazzo Senza Tempo, where historic architecture meets contemporary design. Its panoramic terrace seems to float above the landscape, offering breathtaking views across the rolling Tuscan hills.

Another landmark you shouldn’t miss is Endless Sunset, Peccioli’s striking 72-metre-long pedestrian bridge. Created by artist Patrick Tuttofuoco, the bridge is wrapped in a colourful, flowing ribbon inspired by the changing shades of sunset. Suspended high above the valley, it beautifully shows how Peccioli transforms even everyday architecture into art.

Look out, too, for Lo Sguardo di Peccioli, The Gaze of Peccioli. This striking artwork features the eyes of local residents looking out from the historic centre, creating a fascinating connection between the people of Peccioli, contemporary art and the town itself. As you explore, you’ll also come across the words “La felicità è una via”, “Happiness is the way”, a simple but beautiful reminder to enjoy not only the destination, but the journey along the way.

And these are only a few examples. Art in Peccioli isn’t confined to a museum, the whole town feels like an open-air gallery, with sculptures, installations and unexpected works of art appearing in streets, on buildings and in places where you least expect them.

Take your time to wander through the narrow streets and charming piazzas, stop for a coffee at a local café, or find a panoramic spot and simply watch Tuscan life go by. Throughout the year, festivals, local markets and cultural events add to Peccioli’s lively yet relaxed atmosphere.

As you explore the landscape around Peccioli, you may suddenly come across enormous human figures emerging from the hills. Known as the Presenze, or Giants of Peccioli, these striking sculptures by the Naturaliter art collective have become one of Peccioli’s most recognisable sights. Playful, surprising and slightly surreal, they perfectly reflect the town’s unique way of bringing contemporary art into the Tuscan landscape.
